How to read the generated weather
The weather generation report is displayed in seven columns. You will see something like this:| Day | Min Temp | Max Temp | Wind Direction | Wind Speed | Precipitation | Description |
| 6 | -6 | 4 | 10 | 17 | None | There is no cloud all day |
| 7 | -1 | 10 | 10 | 12G16 | Moderate | Cloud cover: Minimum 0/8, Maximum 8/8 Precipitation occurs in the night |
| 8 | 10 | 21 | 360 | 0 | Heavy | Cloud cover: Minimum 7/8, Maximum 8/8 Precipitation occurs constantly all day |
| 9 | 15 | 26 | 315 | 0 | Heavy | Cloud cover: Minimum 1/8, Maximum 8/8 Precipitation occurs around dawn |
| 10 | 15 | 26 | 235 | 25 | None | There is no cloud all day |
Day: This is the number of the day from 1 to your selected amount of days
Min Temp: This is the minimum temperature that you will get during the day. The minimum temperature normally occurs around dawn.
Max Temp: This is the maximum temperature that you will get during the day. The maximum temperature normally occurs for a couple of hours in the early afternoon.
Wind Direction: This is the average or main direction of the wind during the day.
Wind Speed: This is the average wind speed experienced during the day. If the wind is gusty, you will see an entry like 10G18. This means the average wind speed is 10 and gusting to 18.
Precipitation: This is the amount of rain or snow (depending on the region and temperature) that will fall during the day.
Description: The description indicates how much cloud (Minimum and Maximum) will occur on this day. Cloud cover is indicated in 8ths (i.e. 3/8) of the sky covered in cloud. It also describes when any precipitation might occur. This is also the time that the cloud cover will be greatest.
Combining the weather into your story.
From the output above you can see that on the first day (day 6) it is a fine sunny day. It is cold in the morning (-6) and goes on to be a nice day.The next day dawns slightly warmer. During the day, the clouds build so that it is totally overcast in the evening. Moderate rainfall occurs during the night.
Day 8 is miserable. It is not too cold and there is little or no wind. The rain however, continues to fall with really heavy falls during the day.
After a miserable night with some particularly heavy falls before dawn, the rain stops. The cloud clears during the day to make a sunny afternoon and spectacular sunset.
The last day is fine but the wind has picked up markedly. Underfoot is still sodden and run off from higher areas means that the creeks are flowing quite well.
Notes on Precipitation
Trace: Trace precipitation only amounts to about 1/8" or 3mm of rain or snow. In a desert region this will be quicky soaked up, or will evaporate before it hits the ground.
Light: Light precipitation is scarcely greater than Trace precipitation.
Moderate: This could be continuous drizzle for most of the day or can occur in a brief storm. It will amount to slightly more than Light precipitation.
Heavy: Heavy precipitation almost always falls in a short time frame. It can occur also within an extended period of lighter precipitation.
Downpour: Typically this occurs in a period of intense rain during which an inch (25mm) or more can fall. This intense period can occur within an extended period of lighter precipitation.
